12 liter bottle long 232 bar concave double set in black
A 12 liter concave twin set at 232 bar is one of the most common twin sets. It provides significantly more diving time and provides a good weight distribution when you move underwater. It is equipped with isolation manifold and DIR style stainless steel bands. This makes the kit suitable for technical diving.
12 liter bottles are some of the most widespread and common sizes in Denmark. The 12 liters refers to the "amount of milk that could be in the diving bottle if it was a milk boy :)" and the 171 mm is how wide the bottle is in diameter.
Virtually all bottles in 12 liters and 171 mm are also approved to be filled with 232 bar, which in this case is 2784 liters of free air. If you use the bottles for a double set, just multiply the number by two. This diving bottle is what you would normally call long compared to a 12 liter 203mm bottle, and although both bottles contain the same amount of free air, there may be a slight difference in who benefits most from this size.
Since the bottles are concave, they can stand even without a foot.
Who can use this type of diving bottle?
A long 171mm, 12 liter diving bottle is best for you who are taller than 175cm as it will give you a better balance underwater. If you are shorter, you can use a 10 liter bottle as it will give you almost as much air. In addition, it is easier to transport around land.
One of the most common questions from our customers is how long you can dive with such a double set, and the correct answer is that it depends on many factors, such as depth, breathing rate, how relaxed you are, etc. Our normal answer is that if you are over 175 and have the courage to carry an extra weight, then you can advantageously buy this 12 liter double set because it provides a good safety margin on dives up to + 25 metres.
Sensible additions
Many people buy bottle nets because it gives the bottle extra protection against scratches (net) when you have to fill it or transport it around the diving site. If you use nets, however, remember to rinse the bottle to avoid rust.
