8 liter steel bottle 232 bar DIR double set with stainless steel band
An 8 liter double set at 232 bar belongs to the smaller double sets. It provides significantly more diving time than a single bottle. As the set is equipped with DIR style stainless steel bands, the set is suitable for technical diving.
8 liter bottles are a very common size of concave bottles in Denmark. The 8 liters refers to the "amount of milk that could be in the diving bottle if it was a milk boy :)" and the 140 mm is how wide the bottle is in diameter.
Virtually all bottles in 8 liters and 140 mm are also approved to be filled with 232 bar, which in this case is 1972 liters of free air. If you use the bottles for a double set, just multiply the number by two.
The set comes with a twin boot so the bottles can stand on their own.
Who can use this type of diving bottle?
A 140 mm, 8 ltr double set, is best for the beach trip and other smaller diving trips. As it is compact, it can easily be in the boat or other space where it is cramped.
One of the most common questions from our customers is how long you can dive with such a double set, and the correct answer is that it depends on many factors, such as depth, breathing rate, how relaxed you are, etc. Our normal answer is that you can benefit from buying this 8 liter double set because it still provides a good margin of safety on dives at medium depths, as most divers will use a single 8 liter bottle quite quickly at that depth.
Sensible additions
Many people buy the bottle net because it gives the bottle extra protection against scratches (net) when you have to fill it or transport it around the diving site.
If you use the bottle net and or twinboot, you should rinse the bottle often so that it does not rust at the bottom.
